Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

An Intramural Official is responsible for safety and fairly maintaining game play. Officials must understand the rules for the current sport they are officiating and be able to make fair unbiased judgments through play. This position reports to the Assistant Director – Intramurals.

Responsibilities:
- Along with other officials and intramural supervisors, officiate intramural contest for various sports.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
- Adhere to and enforce safety guidelines and policies.
- Complete all necessary paperwork
- Effectively communicate to fellow staff members, participants and spectators in a positive manner regarding USC Upstate Intramural Sports.
- Conduct and/or assist with daily cleaning operations.
- Abide by all staff policies, procedures and guidelines as communicated from training.
- Occasional work outside and possible exposure to weather, heat, cold or humidity.

Qualifications

- The ideal candidate will have experience playing/officiating similar sports.
- Must be a current student at USC Upstate.
- Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs when taking part in physical activities.
- Continuous walking, standing and moving about.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
