Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under supervision from the Director or Superintendent of Landscape Services or senior staff, the employee is responsible for preparation, management, and beautification of University properties.

Perform the following functions on the campus:
1. Mow and trim turf areas,
2. Prune and trim trees and scrubs,
3. Pick up and remove litter, leaves, and debris,
4. Weed both mechanically and chemically,
5. Plant, water, fertilize shrubs, flowers, trees, etc.,
6. Remove snow and ice from walks and roads,
7. Assist in maintenance of grounds equipment, tools, etc.

In all functions, material that is mowed/pruned/cut/etc. is recycled (mulched, composted, etc.).

Qualifications

A high school diploma is required. Negative pre-employment drug screening and a valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. A successful background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Desire 1 year of grounds maintenance or related work experience consisting of general knowledge of plants and landscaping.
