Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

To participate in planning and implementing and evaluating health services in specialized nursing care areas for training and certification for the Attendant Care Project with the Center for Disability Resources (CDR), Department of Pediatrics, USC School of Medicine. Specifically to evaluate and certify participants or representatives for self-directed care or representative-directed care and to evaluate attendants’ ability to provide safe and participant-specific care. Position will serve the Upstate Region of South Carolina. Provide training as appropriate. To demonstrate commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations. This position is established in support of expanded research activities.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor’s degree in nursing; or diploma from accredited school of nursing and 2 years related experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer at least two years experience be specifically as a licensed RN in a Public Health, Hosptial or Long Term Care setting working with persons with disabilities and/or who are aging/elderly.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Capable of providing individualized training for the participant, representative and attendant; capable of providing group training required. Shall have a PPD tuberculin skin test, unless a previously positive reaction can be documented, no more than 90 days prior to employment (or documented annual testing) and must have a PPD annually thereafter is required. Shall meet OSHA requirements for blood borne pathogen training required. Position serves the upstate region of South Carolina; car provided; telecommuting position. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
