Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin in August 2018. Candidates are sought who will develop collaborative, multidisciplinary research programs using digital health technologies (e.g., eHealth, mHealth, social media, wearables) to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce risk of disease. Scholars with an established research portfolio investigating applications of technology in behavioral interventions, as well as those who consider the policy or economic implications of such interventions are encouraged to apply. Emphasis areas within the TecHealth Center include obesity prevention and treatment and physical activity promotion; however we have an interest in expanding the scope of our activities to include technology-assisted interventions for other lifestyle behaviors. Required Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have an earned doctoral degree in a field relevant to the position and evidence of scholarly research, the ability to obtain competitive funding to support a research program and to serve as an effective instructor and mentor.

Preferred Qualifications

Although not required, completion of a postdoctoral research fellowship in an affiliated area is strongly recommended.
