Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Assist the Start:ME Spartanburg team with the development, operation, and execution of the Start:ME program. Specific activities will include, but are not limited to: planning, preparing, budgeting, coordinating, presenting, and organizing the Start:ME curriculum. Additionally, there will also be communication with, and coordination of, stakeholders involved in the Start:ME program.

Designing and implementing communications plan (including content / materials) to connect stakeholders in the Spartanburg area with the Start:ME program
2. Coordinating and managing weekly session facility and material needs
3. Producing, revising, and delivering program content for key program sessions
4. Overseeing the recruiting and onboarding process for new Start:ME mentors
5. Working with program stakeholders to market the program to promising entrepreneurs
6. Overseeing the selection process for new Start:ME entrepreneurs
7. Collecting data on past Start:ME program participants to evaluate program effectiveness in partnership with key stakeholders

Duties include housekeeping and event set-up/take-down.

Qualifications

High school diploma and 2 or more years in non-profit enterprises, event planning, project management, or other related experience. Successful background check is required.

Outstanding people and organizational skills; Highly skilled with MS Office programs; Detail oriented; comfortable with meeting deadlines; Good communication skills – written and verbal; able to interact with multiple stakeholders simultaneously both within USC Upstate and the outside community; and experience in event planning.

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
