Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Works collaboratively with the GHS Library Director to assess student and faculty information needs that keep students, faculty and staff in touch with emerging technologies and electronic information tools in the field of medicine, nursing, and allied health.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Master’s degree in library science or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience. Degree must be from an ALA accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree and 1 year of library experience. Working knowledge of USCSOMG policies and procedures. Experience with medical care and education. Experience working with students. Experience working in a medical environment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of library organization, research methodology, procedures, aims and services. Knowledge of bibliographical principles, publishing industry, reference source materials, cataloging and classification. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Ability to perform detailed and complex routines with an electronic information system. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, completeness and thoroughness in work. Skill in the development and preparation of instructional aids. Ability to integrate new technology into curricula. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Communicate effectively. Person must have working knowledge of USCSOMG policies and procedures. Must have experience with medical care and education
