Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under moderate supervision, this position provides solutions to end-user computer and networking problems of a basic to moderate nature to ensure end user productivity for the Division of Medicaid Policy Research (MPR) at the Institute for Families and Society. It also provides assistance in the administration of specific databases, servers (e.g., SQL and Web servers) and systems (e.g., active directory) and the support and maintenance of all computing resources (e.g., LAN, desktops, laptops and mobile devices).

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

A Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field and 1 year of experience in office automation systems, data system design/administration, networking, installation, operation, maintenance, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems, or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated skills with Windows server environment, content management systems, JavaScript, HTML, web design and web server management, SQL server and database management (e.g., back-up, restore, table lookups, comparative analyses, etc.), systems administration functions (e.g., MS Active Directory). Moderate knowledge of and skilled in a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols and equipment used in organizations. Basic to moderately complex problem solving skills and basic to moderately complex analytical methods required. Provides advice and assistance to individual users and smaller groups. Working knowledge in systems administration functions with a focus on Microsoft Active Directory. Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal with customers, peers, and management. Knowledge of and experience with HIPAA compliance and security protocols.
