Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Responsibilities include working with the SJMC director in planning, submitting and adjusting class schedules each term and entering schedules into the USC Banner system. Duties also include coordinating tenure and promotion activities, overseeing course evaluation distribution, preparing and maintaining confidential records and reports, processing travel reimbursements, coordinating events/meetings/office maintenance, managing calendars and representing the SJMC in communications with other units on campus.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with university faculty/staff administration.
Knowledge of the USC system and software, including Banner, PeopleSoft and Class Climate


Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communication
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Organization and ability to prioritize tasks; ability to work independently.
Knowledge of University office systems and procedures, including but not limited to course scheduling, purchasing, travel, facilities, and correct usage of purchasing card.
